I’m so glad that you are joining me and my friends for our Magical and Merry Blog Hop Tour as part of my Winter Wonderland Tour Part 2. If you missed the first part of my tour, you can find it here. If you are coming from Kaley’s home at The Little White Farmhouse, don’t you just love all of her pops of green and how she has made Christmas so beautiful in her home? I hope you will stick around and join in for so many other amazing blogger’s tours that are linked at the end of this post. Christmas is my most favorite time of the year and I love sharing it with all of you. I’m sharing some budget friendly ways to decorated this season throughout this tour.
I love adding trees in every space in my home for the Christmas season. It gives me all the feels of winter here in the desert. I found these trees at various places including thrift stores but making your own trees like I did here is even more budget friendly. Chester thinks so too.
I love my new painting from Deann. Adding some old thrifted open back frames to this space makes it feel more cozy and adds just the right amount of texture. I painted the white ones with my chalk paint recipe. I love the mixture of colors in the frames. I found this settee on Craigslist and covered it with some ruffled bedskirts that I picked up at a thrift store. Recovering furniture can be very pricey and this allowed me to lighten up this settee for next to no expense. I also found this table at Goodwill and refinished it. You can see the process, here.
This nook in the corner of my kitchen is one of my favorite spaces in my home. I love that the builders left out the “desk option” when building our home and all of the open accessibility that these shelves add to this space. And I’m still loving this DIY evergreen topiary that I made, especially because it never dies.
Stringing lights in this space was one of the best decisions that I made for Christmas decorating. This is something that my kids look forward to every year. I used command hooks on my walls and cupboards to attach them on one side and then tied them to my pendant lights with fishing line in the middle. They add just the right amount of lighting in this area that we don’t even need to use our regular lighting.
I don’t like having themes for decorating. I just work with what I have and use things that I find that inspire me. I love using original vintage items in my decor as well. I found this old rusty wire rack at a junk shop and added it to the end of my bar for glass storage.
I added these DIY shelves a few years back to my corner nook for extra storage. They are super easy to make and very budget friendly.
I picked up some free evergreen clippings from the tree lot and tied them around my pendents with fishing line for some added Christmas to my bar space. And this chandelier, I picked up at a thrift store. I took off the globes, painted it with my diy chalk paint, and added these vintage jewels with a hot glue gun. I love the way it turned out and the originality of it. You can see the process of how I chalk painted my kitchen cabinets, here.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that you enjoyed my little dining/kitchen area tour. Now, on to clean out my guest room so that my Christmas guests can actually step into the room One messy room in the house isn’t too bad, right? Head over to Jamie’s home next at So much Better With Age. Her neutrals, woods, and whites sure have me swooning!! And so many other great tours are linked up here as well, just below this post.

Natalie I love love love your trees everywhere. I’ve always wished I could put my arms around a forest of evergreen and pull it into my house. Especially at Christmas time. And I would never have thought to string lights in my kitchen. I looks terrific in your space, but my little kitchen isn’t a room I want to drawl attention to. ???? I’ll take your kitchen though. ???? God bless you.

Of all the home design Instagram users, I love your style best. The way some talk with a regular start of a sentence and at the end all seem to go up in volume and higher pitch, like a question. “..and over HERE, and over HERE” I grind my teeth and my husband asks me, “Who is that?” lol
I adore your layering spaces and the little cowgirl theme in your home. I have five hides! Not out right now b/c my daughter and family are here.
Love your lighting and the great tip with the hooks. My kitchen needs painting so yikes, putting up more light. Toddlers and paint; I don’t know how you young mother’s do it. Sorry, I don’t comment often. There’s a reason. Take care! My five daughters love your Instagram, too. They grew-up on this ranch and in this blessed house. ????????????Lots of hugs!

That is just so sweet, Susan! Thank you so much!

Hi Natalie,
I heard that your use of CBD Oil has helped you. My husband has been diagnosed with early onset dementia, he is 56 years old and he has decided to actively monitor this instead of using synthetic drugs. But, he is willing to try the oil. I would like to get the same brand you are using because you had positive results. I’m sure they are all good, but it makes me feel better knowing someone that has used it. Thank you,
My Vintage Porch says
Hi Lisa, I’m so sorry, saying a prayer for you both right now. Here is the link http://vintageporch.primemybody.com/home/
