If you would’ve asked me five years ago, if I would ever have green drapes and green and red Christmas decor, I would have said, “hmmmm, probably not”. But, I do now and I have no regrets!

I had actually been looking at Two Pages drapes for quite some time, thinking about getting some. I wanted something other than neutral, and I thought green would be perfect to go along with all of my red rugs. These are perfect for Christmas and all year round!
I’m so glad I took the plunge…I’m in love with these drapes and can’t get over the amazing quality!!!!
These are the “Evergreen” Print Linen Pleated drapes in the Sara Le Collection and wow, these are some high quality, gorgeous drapes! I’m super impressed!…Very thick and heavy weight!
I hung them way higher than our window because our ceilings are so high and I wanted them to look elevated. I absolutely love them!!
Measuring for custom drapes can feel daunting but it’s really super easy!! Here are the specs of the curtains that I ordered:
Product: Sara Le Print Linen Drapery
Pleated Evergreen SL-E3
Header Style: Pinch Pleat
Single panel width: 130”
Single panel height: 106”
Quantities: 2 panels Color: Color: Evergreen SL-E3
Liner type: Thermal, Shading Rate 100%, 250 gsm micofiber 3-pass coated white
Matching tie backs- yes
Body Memory Shaped: no memory training
I ordered 100% blackout so that they would always be true to color with no light streaming through on any part of the drapes. We push them mostly to the side anyways.
I love that we have the option to make this space really dark if we wanted to as well. This room is connected to our living area with our tv, so it will be nice to have blackout for movie times if we desire. They give our room such a cozy and completed feel!
The DIY curtain rods were so easy to make…after I sanded them down twice because I didn’t like the initial color that I chose for staining. I found the wooden dowels at Home Depot in the trim section. They are around and inch and a quarter thick, maybe a little thicker than that…but under an inch and a half. I ended up using oil based prestain first and then stained them with Minwax Special Walnut stain and they turned out amazing!
I had started out with black rods, and I didn’t love them, I didn’t hate them either. I felt like my eye was drawn to the rod more than the curtain when the rod was black. These wooden rods are perfect because they blend in more with our house and our wood ceilings, allowing the curtains to be more of the star of the show. They are also warmer in color, which I love!
I found these curtain rod finials in my garage. I couldn’t seem to find any ornate ones, like I desired, online that didn’t cost a fortune. I was glad I had these hoarded in my garage for such a time as this!
I used these brackets, and just spray painted them gold. I spray-painted the finials the same color gold. I actually thought I was going to need way more brackets because the curtains are so heavy. But, these worked perfectly, and are heavy duty. Having them in studs does help. I actually found these brackets on Erin’s blog post, I’ll link it here because she has a great tutorial. She used end caps for her curtain rods, instead of finials and they are so pretty.
I got drapes for the other side of the room just like these that cover even more width area of our patio doors, and these brackets work great for them too. We have one on each end into the studs and then Trav used a heavy duty drywall bracket to hang the one on the middle. These are the rings for pleated drapes that I ordered for them to hang from. I have the “antique bronze” color.
I’ll show you the other drapes soon…We also have some for our bedroom with a different pattern that we will be putting up. I highly recommend these drapes! They have so many options to choose from and the ordering process was seamless!

Love the tartan! I have a question about your tree-where did you find the base? I just love it!
My Vintage Porch says
Thank you Amy! It’s an antique table base that we used to put the tree in

The curtains are the perfect touch to your room and the rods go really well with your other wood! But the gold brackets, rings and finials are the “jewelry” to the room. You created a beautiful room!

Curtains are beautiful, but I am interested in finding a similar red lamp, since my son confiscated mine! 😳

Your curtains are beautiful and suit your space perfectly. Love the finials on your rods too.
I made my own rod too. I found one at a thrift store that was the thickness and length I wanted for only $4. No finials though or brackets to attach. After going to several hardware stores and nothing to fit I thought Zi had made a mistake in buying it. Then I stopped into a drapery store. None of theirs fit either but she had a box of spares in the back that I went through, finding two finials that matched and brackets. A little spray paint and voila! I’m not a diyer so was really proud of myself.
Your tree stand looks like an old table base. Did I miss your post on that?
