It was so fun to refresh Kaden’s room and work with Birch Lane on their Timeless Traditions campaign! I’ve desired to change up Kaden’s room for quite some time. His room was still a “little boyish” room and it was time for a change. I absolutely love the way it turned out! Kaden’s only request was that he have a black wall and it worked out perfectly in his space! To be honest, I’ve been wanting to paint a wall black somewhere in our home, so we both got our wishes. Chester seems pretty happy with it all too! This dog cracks me up. He loves being in photos. When I get out the camera, he comes running and will even move from spot to spot without me asking, because he knows that’s where the photo is going to be taken…and that he’s going to get a treat when it’s all done. He’s such a good pup and I have to say, a top model dog too!
I love how this super cozy and soft rug from Birch Lane grounds the whole space! It’s one of my favorite things that I ordered for this refresh! I loved it so much that I ordered another one for our downstairs living room area.
Kaden had shelves here already, but I made them longer for his new space. I think they fit perfectly! I love the deep, rich tone that they stain gives to this space! You can find the shelf tutorial, here.
I wanted to incorporate Kaden’s favorite verse into his “new room”, so I had these large poster size prints printed for him to see every day when he wakes up! They are super easy and budget friendly to make too! I have a little tutorial, here, of how I’ve done this in the past.
When styling his shelves, I knew that I wanted them to look masculine without a lot of clutter. I couldn’t pass up the football photo from his younger years. And, yay, that he doesn’t mind it. I think it’s kind of getting him excited for high school football.
My husband and I made this basketball hoop years ago and I still love it. I stained and white washed this board and my hubs then mounted a full size hoop to the board before attaching it to the wall studs. I spray painted the hoop grey to match his room aesthetic.
Now to convince Kaden to keep his room clean…I should threaten him, right?!
Thanks for stopping by! I would love to hear what you think of Kaden’s room in the comments below! It sure was a fun project!
