Flooring Color Choices With Mannington

If you have been following me for a while then you might remember the day that I flooded my laundry room? I guess that I thought if I turned on the water in the sink, plugged the drain, and left the room for hours that the faucet would magically stop running. Hmmmm, that didn’t happen. Instead, I ended up with a rain in my downstairs. I have to say, I’ve never seen it rain inside my house until that day, but it’s not a memory that I would like to replay in real life again. Ugh, after alot of clean up and a restoration company coming out to dry out my house, we are on our way now to put in new flooring in our entire house. Yay, I can’t tell you how excited I am about that and I would love it if you could all help me choose a color.

I am excited to announce that Mannington Residential Flooringhas agreed to partner with me on this project! AND, they are looking out for me for sure with this 72 hour moisture resistant flooring. 72 hours! My flooring would have been safe in our little flood, had I had this flooring before. I am beyond thrilled to work with Mannington, I have been eyeing their gorgeous flooring for quite some time.

Here are the options, and if you could leave your vote in the comments at the end of this post, I would love that! Thank you for helping me and encouraging me on this very frustrating part of my life journey. It’s turning out to be something good which I am very thankful for. I will add the color option names above each photo.

Chester just got groomed today and wants in on the action too. He loves his new fluffy do. And do you think he’s choosing that color right there?

I placed them beside our wood staircase to give you an idea of what it will look like with the color of wood that we have on our stairs. I don’t want it to match our staircase, although I would like it to blend/offset well.

Mannington has so many beautiful choices, right?! I value your opinions so much!

Yep, this is what my house looks like right now…rainbow flooring with a whole lot of empty boxes in the background that I hid.

And mirror decisions for my standstill bathroom project right now too.

    • I know where your coming from, We want to put in new flooring in our kitchen, dining room and halls. We now have a Mannington flooring that is 25 yrs old, the only problem are the seams. We have a large area and I don’t want to go with sheet vinyl I want something else that doesn’t have seams. I see something in the store and bring it home and then don’t like it against my cupboards. Wished I could find something that I really like. Good luck !!!!

  10. Easy, Treeline Oak Spring to compliment the staircase. I like Fairhaven Brushed Natural the best though. And you should do whatever Chester wants, I just lost my golden doodle and my heart catches in my throat everytime I see him. Your stories are the best, I save them up for the end of the day!!

  17. I love all the options! The ones that work best with your staircase, imho, are Treeline Oak Spring first and Treeline Oak Fall second. I would choose something else if I had no other large wood features in the house…

  18. Number 1. Fairhaven Brushed Natural, is my pick for a nice contrast but still has the color of the stairs in it. How fun, they are all beautiful!

  19. First choice Fairhaven Brushed Natural. (going light and still in warm family of your stairs) Second is Blacksmith Oak Stream (going light but a smidge cooler than fairhaven) GOOD LUCK! ????????

  29. Decisions, decisions!!! My two favorites are Treeline Oak Spring, and Treeline Oak Fall. I also like Hillside Hickory Acorn.

    Once you narrow it down I think you should do this again. I would like to see my three favorites together next to the stairs to really decide!!????

  30. That is an overwhelming amount of choices! I narrowed it down to 4 favorites..
    in no particular order.

    1. Treeline Oak Spring
    2. Weathered Fire Ridge
    3. Keystone Oak Patina
    4. Hillside Hickory Acorn

    We have 3/4 inch oak floors that are original to our 1919 home. When we remodeled the kitchen, we had to replace the whole floor. We have two different doorways in our kitchen that butt up against the dining room flooring and then another little hallway. I ended up going with 3/4 inch oak in a darker shinier finish than the rest of the house. I think it flows well. I never thought I’d go darker but for some reason it just spoke to me..
    Go with your gut. I can’t wait to see what you choose!!!

  32. Weathered ridge , tree line oak, or hillside hickory. Probably lean more towards weathered ridge because of the color it picks up from your stairs and the width. Good luck.

  35. Definitely I would choose #1 Fairhaven Brushed Natural. It compliments colors w the adjoining wood but doesn’t compete w/ it. Compliments & doesn’t look like you ran out of the other color/style. Can’t wait to see what you pick.

  36. Fairhaven brushed natural coffee is my number one choice. Fairhaven brushed coffee ☕️ is 2nd choice. It helps if you squint your eyes when you look at the pictures and make it fuzzy looking. So you really see the whole picture. ???? good luck!!

  37. Treeline oak spring and treeline oak fall are tied for me. But I like the Arcadia firewood too. They all blend but not match with the stairs. No matter what you pick, it will be fabulous I’m sure!

  45. It was a toss up between Treeline Oak Spring, Weathered Ridge Fire and Hillside Hickory Acorn. However, I think Weathered Ridge Fire would be my top pick as it has the graining and warm coloring similar to your existing hardwood. Hillside Hickory Acorn runs a very close second in both graining and knotting but it doesn’t have that warm hue to it, unless the lighting in the pic is washing it out.

  51. Fairhaven brushed coffee! However, that name is a bit confusing as who brushes their coffee?????. Even with a silly name is blends beautifully with the existing wood on your staircase.

  85. It’s between Fairhaven Brushed Natural and Keystone Oak Iron but to pick only one, I’d say Fairhaven Brushed Natural. It’s a great contrast against your other floor but not so much with your clean, fluffy, & handsome Chester! ❤

  86. Fairhaven Brushed Natural is my first choice as I think it brightened thinks up and was a complementary contrast, and my second choice is weathered ridge fire.

  95. With your stairs in mind I like the look of the Acadia Firewood and the Tree Line Oak Fall (fav with your steps). Both of these colors have similar tones as your steps. I love some of the greys but not how they will look with your stairs.

  98. Hillside Hickory Acorn or Weathered Ridge Storm. I can’t really see what “goes” with the steps.

  99. Tree line oak if you’re looking to match your stairs. Traditional, classic look. But I really like the look of the Black Forest oak weathered. The lighter wood is really trending now. Shown a lot with neutral/ white decor which seems to be your signature look. And I read it doesn’t show dirt as much as the darker woods (which I can vouch for). Check out Jillian Harris’s house. That would be my vote. Good luck. Decisions, decisions ????

    2. Treelike Oak Spring

    Note: we just moved in our house & had a flood on day 2. It was, needless to say, horrifying. After all the restoration, we chose something that looks like #3 I Call it barnwood Gray. It’s pretty, but I wish I would have chosen brown wood tones. We have it throughout the whole house and I’m living with it, but a bit disappointed.
    Can’t wait to see what you choose. ❤️

  110. I love all of them but the one I like most is Arcadia Bark. I love Manninton flooring. I have it in my kitchen and hallway and I love it. So easy to take care of. I’ve had mine about 15 years now and it looks as good as when we first put it down.

  113. I’m late of course and the oddball. Facing this decision myself! I love the Fairhaven Coffee and both Black Forest stains. I have loved the rustic touch of grey with the browns in the new floorings. Can’t wait to see whatever you choose. Always looks amazing ????

  121. I believe Fairhaven brushed coffee is a beautiful contrast to your existing floors. It won’t look like you were trying to match the existing flooring. The contrast of the lighter color with darker streaks of the Fairhaven Brshed Coffee complements the flooring on your stairs.

  124. I vote for French Oak Nutmeg because that is exactly what we JUST installed for our remodel. I LOVE the color and texture. I really like that the highlights in the grain are white. The floor doesn’t show every speck of dust or water drop. To me it is the perfect brown.

    Related to flooring, I am so bad at picking ONE…I ruled out those I didn’t care for next to your stairs and came up with the following ‘likes’ in no particular order:
    Fairhaven Brushed Natural, Treeline Oak Spring, Treeline Oak Fall , Arcadia Firewood and Hillside Hickory Stone
    I think my anal self would wander around the house and put my top 3-5 choices down in random spots next to other furniture, rugs, walls to make my final pick! Have fun choosing…it looks like a beautiful product!

  130. I like the Fairhaven Brushed Coffee. I think it’s the perfect mix between what you have on the stairs now and a nice neutral brown. If you go to dark it shows EVERYTHING…..and I think dark will be dated soon….so stay somewhere in the middle. All beautiful choices! Good luck!

    I think these would look best with your other flooring. Better transition than the others.

  140. I like treeline oak spring. It pulls the reds out of the stairs but is a step down in the coloring. If that makes any sense? It flows for me.

  149. My favorite is Tree Line Oak Spring second is Arcadia Fire. All of the flooring is beautiful, but on the pics those two seem to share the same undertones.

  154. Late to this party but my vote is Treeline Oak Spring number one, it blends with your stairway the best without matching and l like the texture. Second would be Treeline Oak Fall. We did hickory wire brushed flooring several years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. It’s the one thing in my home that I wouldn’t change. Medium tone, doesn’t show dirt or dog hair (we have a black and a rust/blonde) when it came time to do the guest room my flooring had been discontinued. Oh the pain! Everything was either too gray, too red, or too brown. Finally went with a winder plank and a color that blends so that it contrasts a bit but not so much that it’s “too too much.” Good luck with your decision. I couldn’t get rid of my tile fast enough! You’ll love having wood!

  157. Fairhaven Brushed Natural, hands down. It would be great if installed on the diagonal. That way it complements the stair color without looking too close like it was “supposed to match”. The diagonal install would give a natural “motion” to the floor and allow the stairs to have their own character so your eye doesn’t try to pick a favorite.

    Depending on what kind of contrast you are looking for:
    Keystone Oak Iron – LOVE the contrast of the gray and the brown in your stairs. They are beautiful together.
    Fairhaven Brushed Natural – allows sufficient contrast but has the same warmth and tone as the brown in your stairs. Beautiful also!

  170. Ohhhh definitely a tie between the fairhaven brushed natural and the fairhaven brushed coffee. The tones in both go so well with the stairs and the darker tones seem to be a great match to the stairs.
