I recently partnered with Bed Bath & Beyond for “Mason Jar Day” and am excited to show you some ideas for using mason jars for Christmas decor!
I love these large gallon Ball jars and wanted to do something a little different with them. I decided to use them as “tree holders” for these white trees that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I used faux snow to fill the jars to my liking and then just popped the little trees in without the stands. I rusted some lids from some smaller Ball jars and added some Christmas ribbon by looping it twice on the ring of the jar lid and then adding the center part to hold it in place. I made sure to cut my ribbon long enough so that I could wrap it around and tie it on the back of the jar. I had some little wooden letters left over from another project, that I had gotten at Hobby Lobby, so I hot glued them to the lids. I love the way they turned out…such a fast and easy diy project! A little tip for the rusted lids: I sanded them a lot with 100 grit sand paper prior putting them into the rusting solution and this allowed me to skip the vinegar step and move straight to the peroxide and salt! I let mine sit overnight so they would get even more rusty.
We decided to use these 1/2 gallon Ball jars for some of Chester’s dog treats, but when I found this cute dog treat jar from Bed Bath & Beyond, I switched them to the treat jar and now we will use the other jars in our pantry. I laid this amazing throw on the floor to take a photo and Chester came and made himself right at home.
I also made these “snow globes” from larger quart and half gallon Ball Jars. I found some little bottle brush trees and packs of faux snow at Walmart and added them to the jars by hot gluing them to the lids. I then added some faux snow to the jar, added the lid, and turned it upside down. This allowed the faux snow to fall to the bottom of the jar. I decided to “unroll” the top of these pom stockings to give them a more textured look and I love them! They are the softest stockings that I’ve ever felt too!
I love how the twinkle of these little birch Luminara candles make this space sparkle. They even have a remote that can be purchased for ease in turning them all off! I’m so happy with how it all turned out and that I had the opportunity to think outside the box of how to use mason jars in decor! I love getting the creative juices flowing and swimming against the flow for home decor. It’s makes it a challenge and all the more fun for me!
I would love to hear below in the comments what you think of my “Joy jars” and “snow globes”! If you make some and post them on IG, tag me so I don’t miss them! I would love to see! Happy Day, my friends!

I love the way you think “outside” the box. You always come up with the neatest ideas. I bought the jar lid tops that if they received sun or a lot of light will automatic lite up at night. I used these to place “snow” and the small trees inside and when it gets dark early they light up the windows. Placed three of them in the bathroom window and they become a “night light” for the bathroom. Your white trees on the coffee table are awesome. Just previewed your “winter wonderland” room and as always, you room is magical. Would love to view your home in person at Christmas – it should be on a winter tour. That cozy rug you found looks so cozy that one would want to curl up for a nap – no wonder Chester likes it.

Beautiful and simple! I’ve already got the majority of the supplies on hand. I’ve pinned for next year. Thank you for all the awesome inspiration.
