I’m always looking for budget friendly home decor. I love a deal, a bargain, a score! I had a friend that was getting rid of these frames and I thought about using them for photo art work but then had the idea to print my own verse art. I love original decor, you know that you just can’t go grab in any large chain store? So, believe it or not, I actually just typed what I wanted in a word document and then saved it as a PDF file. This is the important step because if you don’t save it as a PDF file, the place that you choose to print it may not have the same font that you saved it as and it will just choose it’s own when sent over to be copied. I found that out the hard way. It wasn’t a smooth process for me as my Office Max messed it up a few times, smeared the ink, got blotchy fingerprints all over the white, and taped it shut on the front of the print, but in the end after reprinting it 3x it turned out great and the lady helping me was more than kind. Sometimes you just have to laugh and move on. I did not want mine centered, buy wanted the wording to the bottom right side of my print. I then had them print it on thick poster board paper…I believe they also have card stock. I’m so in love with this art and what can be better for under $9 for both of them 16×20?! Happy printing! I hope to see a lot of photos of your DIY art coming my way! I love to see all of your projects!
Here is the before of my sweet frames. Remember…think outside the gold and green box.
When I saw these frames that one of my friends was getting rid of, I couldn’t wait to paint them. Paint changes everything right? All these puppies needed was a good paint job with some distressing. I mean check out these amazing details in these frames! I love ornate and I love white paint just as much. I used my DIY chalk paint to paint them and then distressed them with 100 grit sandpaper. I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out! Here is the final product after typing my verse on two separate papers, saving as a PDF file, and having it printed on thick poster paper. LOVE!!
And as I would love a gorgeous chandelier hanging from this ceiling, my husband would rather have the air flow here in Tucson, AZ. Very understandable.
Have a great day my friends! I hope to meet up with you on Instagram and Facebook as well! I also have a Pinterest account “My Vintage Porch” if you would like to follow along with me.

Do you use the same drop clothes to make these pillows that you used for your curtains? The ones in a different vlog you did. ????
