When we decided to have this bathroom remodeled we didn’t know that the renovations would still be going on at this point! Renovations were supposed to be finished at the end of July and, tell me if I’m wrong, but now it seems to be September. Ahhhh! It’s been a circus of mess ups from our contractors and them not following through on getting things done. We are now in the process of fixing things that they messed up (since they are no longer with us), but I wanted to share where we are at this point.
Here is the before of the bathroom…
Not bad, by any means, but just not my style and I’m not sure why there was a window above the vanity. The previous owners had a mirror stabilized to the backsplash. I envisioned having a tub under that window and changing the whole layout. Trav was along for the ride, but nervous.
Some day, hopefully before Christmas (haha), we hope to have the tub installed. But, I’m loving where we are at so far! Here is a sneak peak of the amazing door that we found at Antiquities in Phoenix! I love it so much!!
There were many stalls on getting this project finished…We had to have the drywall cut into and the floor tile cut into behind that little wall to fix the mess ups from the previous circus contractor’s plumber. That is next to get fixed on the list it won’t be for another week and then the week after that we may be able to get the tub installed.
Remember that vanity that I stripped for this purpose? Trav hung the vanity mirror last night and, pinch me! Is this for real?!?! I’m in love!!! We are waiting on our sink to be done…we actually sent it with the guy that’s doing our counter tops. He is going to drill it for the drain and such. Trav was going to do it but he thought, if someone else experienced can do it, he chose that option. Fingers crossed it comes back in one piece, after all of the other things that have happened!
I’m in love with it all! The brick! The saltillo, the shower!! I have more about the brick, here in this post. We actually used the same brick as our floors but had the installers use a grout bag technique this time instead of smearing the grout over the brick. I love how it looks like an exposed wall!
We found this amazing saltillo arabesque tile at a local saltillo tile place in Tucson. The tile in the shower is from Floor and Decor. I love that it looks like marble but will be so much easier to clean since it’s ceramic! The flooring and brick crew did an amazing job in here!!
I’ll update when we have the bathroom completed. It’s turned out exactly as I envisioned it! I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!!!
